Doctoral Day of the Field of Excellence "Dimensions of Europeanization"

The Field of Excellence's internal Doctoral Day will take place on Friday, January 22, 2021.

Doctoral students of both Consortia integrated in the Field of Excellence, Resonant Self-World Relations in Ancient and Modern Socio-Religious Practices & ESOE – Europeanization Processes in Southeastern Europe, as well as the Institute of Slavic Studies and the Institute of Geography and Regional Sciences, will present their research, and engage in a fruitful and interdisciplinary exchange.

09:15 – 09:45: Biljana Puric "The Politics of Post-Yugoslav Art in the Context of Europeanization Processes“

09:45 – 10:15: Damir Šabotić "Jewish sephardic literature in the field of cultural production in Bosnia and Herzegovina between the two world wars“

10:15 – 10:45: Blaž Ploj "Let Me Fool and Entertain You! Ritual and Carnivalesque in ''The Haunted House" by Plautus“

11:00 – 11:30: Manuel Moser "Of thingified drivers and disthingified trucks. Resonances, rituals and religion amongst truckers from East Germany and West Bolivia“

11:30 – 12:00: Sara Bozicevic "Rethinking urban informality in Belgrade: how do concepts from the Global South help us understand processes in the Balkans"

12:00 – 12:30: Mladen Zobec "From workers to entrepreneurs: transformation of Albanian migrants in SR Slovenia from social-sector labourers to workers and owners of small family businesses"
