First plenary session of the field of excellence “Dimensions of Europeanization”

On November 15, the principal investigators and associated members met for the first field of excellence plenary session. The meeting not only stimulated a transfer of ideas and knowledge, but also provided insight into the sheer diversity of this field of excellence. "Dimensions of Europeanization" brings together a wide range of experts: from geography, antiquity and modernity, social and cultural anthropology, and everything that falls under the umbrella of Southeast European Studies. The various research projects presented over the course of the meeting further highlighted the interdisciplinary and international nature of “Dimensions of Europeanization." The session included input from researchers such as research fellow Zaira Lofranco, who is working to analyze the financial dimension of Europeanization in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The participants of the session did not only discuss internal activities, but also ways to strengthen the field of excellence’s outreach. This session began a conversation about the possibilities to enable input from external people and to encourage interaction with the public sphere as a whole.
