Since spring 2020 the Field of Excellence “Dimensions of Europeanization” has supported six academic events or project applications of its principal investigators and associated members with seed money.

Since spring 2020 the Field of Excellence “Dimensions of Europeanization” supports its principal investigators and associated members with seed money for academic events or project applications. A minimum of two principal investigators has to be involved. The interdisciplinary exchange within the Field of Excellence is strengthened and diverse collaborations result into fruitful activities.

The internal deadline for applications is March, 15 and October, 15. The final decision is made by the Field of Excellence’s Forum. Reporting on project development is required once. A second report is necessary in case a funded project could not be finished within six months.

By summer semester 2021 the following six events or projects were financed:

  1. Funding for the 5th International PhD Conference Rijeka/Ljubljana/Graz: „Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Aging and Care: What does it mean to grow old?“ June 9 and 10, 2021, at the University of Graz; Project leader: Ulla Kriebernegg
  2. Funding for the conference “Camps, (In)justice, and Solidarity in the Americas Commemoration of the 20th Anniversary of the Guantánamo Bay Detention Camps” January 28-31, 2022, at the University of Graz; Project leader: Roberta Maierhofer
  3. Funding for the academic workshop “Rethinking the uneven development in Europe: COVID-19 and beyond” one-day workshop in autumn 2021; Project leader: Ana Podvršič
  4. Funding for a project application (e.g. at Lise Meitner Programme, FWF by Claudia Luchetti) ,,Subjectivity and Self-Knowledge in the Ancient Metaphysics - Presocratics and Plato - and its Heritage in Modern ldealism"; Project leader: Peter Scherrer
  5. Funding for the Summer School on „Philosophy and Interdisciplinarity”; Project leader: Daniela Camhy
  6. Funding for a project application "Genuesen, Florentiner, Sephardische Juden und die Europäisierung Amerikas, 1492 bis 1530“; Project leader: Christian Cwik
