Olena Beskorsa, Ph.D.

Summer Semester 2022

Olena Beskorsa is a research fellow in the field of excellence, spending summer semester 2022 in Graz. Her research interests include the fostering of the EU integration of Ukraine by implementing digital transformation of higher education. Her thesis research is devoted to theoretical substantiation and practical realization of the system of enhancing primary school teachers’ digital culture.

During her stay she will study the European experience of implementing digital education in teacher training, paying the special attention to the innovative methods and techniques of enhancing teacher students’ digital competence. The development of digital competence contributes to the successful conduct of professional activities, improving their competitiveness at the labour market, extending the opportunities to be employed in the European countries, and improving social and professional mobility.

"Ukrainian government follows the European policy-related documents in the sphere of digitalization of education to ensure economic growth, employability, competitiveness, innovation, and social cohesion. There is a growing need for developing university students’ digital skills and competences to study, work, communicate, and get access to the global education space."

Olena Beskorsa is Associate Professor of the Department of Primary Education Theory and Practice at State Higher Educational Institution Donbas State Pedagogical University. She has an experience of participation in international cooperation as one of project members of “Enhancing Democracy Education in Ukraine, Norway and Palestine” and the Jean Monnet Module “Ukraine – EU: Intercultural Communication in Education”.
