Dr Dušan Ristić is a senior visiting research fellow in the Field of Excellence – Dimensions of Europeanization, spending summer semester 2023 in the Centre for Southeast European Studies, University of Graz. His current research focuses on digitalization, datafication, and lifelogging practices. In this lecture he will speak about the sociological and biopolitical dimensions of the so-called digital health tools developed during the pandemic of COVID-19 in Europe. The aim of the lecture is to provide general theoretical framework and to problematize questions raised after the use of these tools in a comparative perspective, including EU and non-EU countries. Particular attention will be given to dimensions of change in public health policies, “networked biopolitics” and securitized body (bio)politics.
Dr Dušan Ristić is currently Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad in Serbia.
